A survival guide for digial nomads in La Spezia and Cinque Terre area. Are you wondering where you could work and meet new people while enjoying a visit in Southern Liguria? Here there are my local tips about coworking spaces and more!
La Spezia, Cinque Terre & Porto Venere: Coworking Spaces
Cinque Terre may be a tricky place to visit especially for the lack of structures offering internet connection. The best deals and solutions could be found on Airbnb, but pay attention to the presence of WiFi.
The villages offer anyway some nice spots or accommodations for digital nomads, perfect to work while traveling:
Public Library in Monterosso:
it’s a nice space to work and study with no distraction, you will find it at this address: Piazza Garibaldi 35. In summer you may not be able to go inside in shorts, for general rules so pay attention to details. Opening to the public: 9.00-12.00 (all days except Sunday).
Hostel of Corniglia:
the only hostel in the five villages, with cheap accommodations and a 24h internet connection, the hostel of Corniglia offers you the best solution for the high season in terms of remote working, meeting new people, and deals.
Sanctuary of Montenero:
this one is for hikers! The Sanctuary of Montenero is a small church above Riomaggiore. You can reach it through the hiking trail 593V (ex 3a) Riomaggiore – Madonna di Montenero in about 50 minutes. Since it is located on the top of the hill the view from its square is stunning: Riomaggiore, Manarola, the coast and the open sea! It is also the perfect spot to work: there is in fact a picnic area never crowded, pines and silence.
Hostel of Porto Venere:
this one is a rare jewel! It is located in Porto Venere, the true beauty of the Gulf of Poets (11 km away from La Spezia, reachable by car, bus or ferryboat also from Cinque Terre). The hostel offers an awesome view of the village, its common areas are equipped to cook anything you need (microwave, fridge, coffee maker etc) but also wide enough to allow you to work in a quiet and nice environment meeting people from anywhere.
My Sailing Week Coworking:
My Sailing Week is a coworking space near the harbor of La Spezia. It’s easy to reach due to its perfect position in the city center. You can rent your working position for a daily fee, a weekly or a monthly one.
